Summer dresses inspire Quakers Hill's Four Wishes Fashion
A REAL passion for summer dresses was what drove Quakers Hill homepreneur Donna Smith to start her Four Wishes Fashion business. The mother of two, Cameron, 18, and Jayden, 13, has been selling ladies clothing eight years at the markets and decided to create Four Wishes Fashion four years ago in a bid to sell a special summer dress which caught her eye during her travels in Thailand."I have always been in business for myself, selling clothes at the markets and my husband, Richard, works in the food industry selling to cafes and seafood shops," Mrs Smith said."With the dresses I sell it comes in a size which fits all and is really bright and colourful."They are very eye catching and basically sell themselves."
On average she sells somewhere between 50 and 100 dresses a week and regularly attends the Penrith Markets on a Wednesday, Parramatta markets on a Thursday and travels down to the Southern Highlands for their markets on a Friday."I limit the markets I attend on the weekends as I mainly focus on working during the week," she said. She also operates her Four Wishes Fashion business through Facebook and has recently managed to get the dresses into some shops in Kiama, Huskisson and the Jamberoo Recreational Park. She believes if you really want to get into business for yourself "you should just give it a go"."Unless you try you really don't know how good you could be at it," she said."My next step for my business is finding the courage to enter into the wholesale market."
The infamously outspoken comedian and TV personality slammed the sexy 'Tombraider' actress's style, claiming that Ange dresses as if she's ''meeting the pope.'' We're confused...Even after the Oscar's leggy incident, Joan reckons that Angelina, who is engaged to Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt, needs to spice it up a bit when it comes to dressing sexily for high-profile events.Joan, 79, who criticises celebrity's style as a living and is not afraid to voice her opinion, however unreasonable they may be, was quick to judge Angie's provocative one-leg pose in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown at the Oscars in question earlier this year, joining most of the world in poking fun at the actress."Everyone took her to task with that photograph with the leg out, but to me it looked as if she had a terrible yeast infection and she was trying to air it out. It was hilarious!" Joan opined to Heat magazine.
But the fashionista isn't too happy about Ange covering up her assets, bemoaning the actresses' lack of sex appeal in her outfits these days. She said: "Nowadays she wears such long, flowing outfits, she looks like she's coming from a meeting with the pope." She can't do anything right, can she...?And Joan was one of the first critics to slam Ange after her appearance at the Oscars, branding her considered stance as fake and rehearsed, even posing with a prosthetic limb to mock the Hollywood star. But Joan has no regrets when it comes to her ballsy nature, adding: "I just say what I want to say. I have nothing to lose." Fair dos...
