She was one of hundreds of future brides, brides’ mothers and bridesmaids who filled the halls of The Fez in Hopewell Township for “The Bridal Experience” — a huge bridal show and gown sale that attracted women from across the region. The “Experience” hosted a stop of the Brides Against Breast Cancer “National Tour of Gowns,” which offered a large room full of wedding gowns donated by designers, dress shops and just-married brides whose dresses are sold at discounted prices that range from $99 to $4,000. 

Eighty percent of the proceeds go toward supporting cancer patients, according to Nicole Mancini, national events manager for Brides Against Breast Cancer. “It has been very busy,” Mancini said. Wasik paid $899 for “the perfect dress,” which has a retail value of about $2,000, she said. “There was a lot of variety,” in the collection, Wasik said, adding she tried on seven dresses before settling on the gown she chose. “I found the perfect dress! I wasn’t planning on (buying one). I though I’d come back next year,” Wasik said. But “you know when it’s the one,” she said of her dress, which she picked with help from her sister Anna. 

Wasik’s engaged to marry Alan Jurich, also of New Brighton. She was one of several future brides who were greeted with cheers, bells and camera flashes when she settled on a gown at the show. “The cause is great. There are a lot of beautiful options,” said Marianne Maloney of South Fayette Township. Maloney’s daughter Jessica is getting married, and the reception will be at The Fez, so they came to the show to consider their options, they said. “It’s been wonderful; we’re about full,” organizer Debbie Skowvron said of the show,You're here because you're searching for the perfect Discount Ball gown wedding dresses for sale or bridesmaid dress. which is in its 13th year, the last five of them featuring Brides Against Breast Cancer gowns. “It’s a big event, and it’s filling up the whole building today,” Skowvron said.
